About this Page
VoiceThread is a great way to humanize online courses because it allows participants to communicate beyond text dialogue.
VoiceThread is a cloud-based application that will allow you to upload your PowerPoint presentation, create voice narration, and allow others to add narration to create a collaborative project if so desired. Because VoiceThread is a cloud-based application, you don’t need to download software. All you need to do is log-in to your account. VoiceThread allows for you to sign-up for a free account or an account for which you need to pay.
If you are asked to comment on a presentation that has already been created, you can sign-up for a free account at www.voicethread.com. The free account will allow you to comment on limitless presentations. If you do not sign up for a free account, you will not be able to comment.
However, you are only allowed to create three presentations with the free account. Therefore, if you need to create a presentation, you are more than welcome to contact our Instructional Designer and Educational Technologist and she will set up an account for you that has been paid for by the Graduate School.
This tool can be used by faculty, staff, and students in order to communicate in an asynchronous manner. Use the tutorials below to learn how to create a VoiceThread presentation, narrate and comment on the presentation, and/or share the presentation with others.
